Glossary

EcoEsep terms in plain language.

Short definitions of the concepts used in calculations, the method catalog, and reports. These are product explanations, not legal definitions.

Project

The top-level EcoEsep record that groups the reporting context, objects, sources, calculations, evidence, reviews, and reports.

Object / facility

A site, facility, installation, or project unit that contains one or more emission sources and location context.

Source display sequence

An automatic project-local label such as Source 1. It is for navigation and is not the official inventory number or database id.

Inventory source number

An optional official or imported source identifier kept separately from the display sequence and internal id.

Annual emission mass

The total mass of a pollutant emitted during a reporting year, commonly shown in tonnes per year. It is not an ambient concentration.

Averaging period

The time basis over which concentration or another result is averaged. A value is not comparable with a reference that uses an incompatible period.

Value source

The provenance state showing whether an input is measured, documented, estimated, reused, or unknown, together with supporting evidence when available.
